I honestly think it’s fine to publish in both. I think if you have a topic-specific story that matches up with the theme of a publication, you should probably start there. That way, your story is finding readers who are already interested in your topic. But I also don’t think there is anything wrong with publishing in omnibus venues like Illumination or Invisible Pillar. I have definitely published in both. Thanks for the tag!
